I'd recommend purchasing some of these, although i of course have other methods of getting and testing them :)

1) Alan Wake - omg.. get this game... seriously.. get this game

2) The Void - odd and very strange, if you liked The Cell (movie) play this... if you dont like art house stuff, dont ;)

3) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Damn fine, slightly more frustrating than the roiginal, but theres a bunch of platformer style levels :) We're not stuck... yet... :) Its released in Aus in a couple months.

4) Settlers 7 : I'll let you know in about 2 hours :)

Loved settlers 6, need to get 7.

Does Alan Wake live up to the hype? I just got time to finish FFXIII on the weekend and I still have dragon age: awakening to play through before I get the next game.

For the Xbox 360 lover, I highly recommend UFC2009. It's cheap as hell right now (2010 is being released) and it's great fun if you like MMA or just enjoy seeing grown men have elbows and shoulders dislocated :D

Alan Wake is basically an interactive Dean Koontz novel :) Muchly MUCHLY enjoyed it, its backed by a VERY kickass soundtrack which i immediately....... got......... as well

Theres a band in the game which has a couple of tracks used, absolutely fantastic.. all i can say is that when you finish an episode listen to the music (its episodic, the start of the next one always begins with 'PREVIOUSLY ON ALAN WAKE' with a nice voice-overed-last-week-on-flash-forward style cut together, really adds to the feeling you're in an interactive TV series you want to see the next episode of.)

For big spence : Imagine Alan Wake as Heavy Rain, but horror, with combat

totally different gametypes and styles. mario 64 was sort of... lame

galaxy has more of a platformer feel

mario galaxy 2 has a few more platform (side scroller) levels included too, those are awesome

its very simple, only difference really is the perspective the plot the gameplay the platform the rendering the graphics the music and the lead character - the rest is virtually identical
